International recognition for his commitment to research on immigration and the Francophonie in Canada
Winnipeg (Canada) – Professor Dr. Halimatou Ba , a Senegalese teacher at the School of Social Work at the University of Saint-Boniface, was honoured by King Charles III for her outstanding career in higher education, research and the promotion of the French language.
A teacher for sixteen years at this Manitoba university, Dr. Ba actively contributes to the training of bilingual social workers and the development of social work in a minority Francophone context . Her research on immigration has led to a better understanding of the factors contributing to the successful integration of African immigrant women in Manitoba, a topic central to Canadian social and cultural dynamics.
Beyond his academic activities, Dr. Ba is involved in several boards of directors and community organizations, thereby strengthening the influence of the Francophonie and intercultural living together .
This royal distinction crowns a career of excellence and underlines the significant contribution of African researchers to the production of knowledge and social innovation on an international scale.
