Awa Soumbounou, founder of Awa Bissap Corp, wins the competition – Fatimata Thiam, CEO of Fallure, also receives an award
The 2024 edition of La Fosse aux Lions , a major entrepreneurship event in Manitoba (Canada) , honored two Senegalese talents. Awa Soumbounou , founder of Awa Bissap Corp , won first prize, while Fatimata Thiam , creator and director of the Fallure brand, was also recognized for her innovative project.
These two young women impressed the jury with the quality of their pitches , their entrepreneurial vision , and the added value of their respective businesses. Awa Soumbounou stood out by showcasing her concept inspired by bissap , an iconic West African beverage, which she promotes through a modern and sustainable approach. Fatimata Thiam, for her part, captivated the jury with the artistic and distinctive dimension of her brand, combining creativity, elegance, and authenticity.

The jury, impressed by the relevance of their contributions, praised their boldness , leadership and ability to innovate .
Broadcast live on social media, La Fosse aux Lions is a must-attend event in Manitoba , bringing together Francophone entrepreneurs each year to present their projects to a panel of experts and investors. Other participants included Joël Bisson and Jacinthe Blais , two Canadian entrepreneurs recognized for the quality of their initiatives.
